How it works
Solves proportions of the form a/b = c/x with one unknown. Check that two ratios are equivalent or find the missing term that makes them so.
Formula
a/b = c/x → x = b × c ÷ a (cross-multiplication)
Example
2/5 = 6/x → 2 × x = 5 × 6, so x = 5 × 6 ÷ 2 = 15.
